Easter Evidence

Biblical Evidence of Easter
Students were asked to grab bibles and find evidence of Easter.

Asher – Mark 14:43         Jesus was still speaking when Judas the betrayer came up. He was one of the twelve disciples and a mob of men with swords and clubs were with him. They had been sent by the chief priest the nations leader and the teachers of the law of Moses.
“This is when Jesus gets arrested before he is nailed to the cross”.
Caitlyn: John 19:16-19 Then Pilot handed Jesus over to be nailed to a cross.  Jesus was taken away and carried his cross to a place known as The Skull. In Aramaic this place is called Golgotha.
“It’s the part where Jesus gets nailed to the cross”.
Jemimah – Luke 24:1-7  Very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb carrying spices that they had prepared.  When they found the stone rolled away from the entrance, they went in but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus and they didn’t know what to think.  Suddenly two men in shiny white clothes stood beside them. The women were afraid and bowed to the ground but the men said, “Why are you looking in the place of the dead for someone who is alive?  Jesus isn’t here.  He’s been raised from the dead”.

Grace – Matthew 27:57-60          That evening a rich disciple named Joseph from the town of Arimathea went and asked for Jesus’ body.  Pilot gave orders for it to be given to Joseph who took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth.  Then Joseph put the body in his own tomb that had been cut into solid rock and had never been used.  He rolled a big stone against the entrance to the tomb and went away.
“It’s how they wrapped Jesus in the cloth and Joseph took Jesus’ body to the tomb” [Joshua – “Just after Jesus died” ].
Israel  - Matthew 27:50-54           Once again Jesus shouted and then he died.  At once the curtain in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.  The earth shook and rock split apart.  Graves opened and many of God’s people were raised to life.  Then after Jesus had risen to life they came out of their graves and went to the holy city where they were seen by many people.  The officer and soldiers guarding Jesus felt the earthquake and saw everything else that happened.  They were frightened and said, “This man really was Gods son”.

“It’s when God died on the cross for our sins and everybody that believed in him went to heaven” [Bradley]#smiley face
